INDIGO PLACE STUDENT HOUSING Architect: Richard Shugar AIA, LEED AP Project Manager: Michael Soraci AIA, LEED AP General Contractor: Essex General Construction Completed 2009 Eugene, Oregon 9112 sf New Construction The site of Indigo Place is on a busy corner nearby the University of Oregon. This location allows students to walk to classes at the University of Oregon. The corner was previously the site of two run-down houses that had been used as student housing; these homes were removed to make way for the 27-bedroom project. The units are divided into three 4-bedroom units and three 5-bedroom units. Spacious bedrooms give students privacy, and the open kitchen, dining, and living spaces encourage community. Indigo Place is a four-story housing project, containing six two-story units. To maximize efficiency the units are arranged by stacking three five-bedroom units over three four-bedroom units. Key features include balconies, high ceilings and durable finishes, intended to create a desirable, upscale, urban-living experience for students.
